Bawal na sa EDSA: Provincial buses banned from entering Metro Manila starting April 22

Commuters coming from the provinces will have a more difficult time traveling after Holy Week as the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the strict implementation of the provincial bus ban along EDSA.

MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said Tuesday that their traffic enforcers will apprehend provincial buses that load and unload passengers along EDSA and major roads in Metro Manila starting April 22.

Instead of traversing EDSA, provincial buses must only use their respective terminals in dropping off and picking up passengers, or directly from the terminal to the drop off point.

Violators face a P500 fine for illegal unloading and unloading.

“It is about time we enforce discipline to restore order on the roads,” Garcia said.
