Vico Sotto wants to simplify scholarship for Pasig students: No more extra fees!
Pasig City councilor Vico Sotto has vowed to simplify the scholarship program offered by the city government to students should he win the mayoralty race.
In a Facebook post, Sotto said he wants to give students options regarding the terms of their scholarship.
He also vowed to remove the unnecessary requirements students must meet before they receive educational assistance from the government.
“Tatanggalin natin ang mga sobra-sobrang mga requirement kung saan napapagastos ang mga mag-aaral (pati Christmas party may bayad pa eh!) Ibig sabihin, madadagdagan ang baon ng mga mag-aaral,” Sotto said.
Should he unseat Bobby Eusebio as mayor, Sotto said he will also not require students to submit the voters’ registration documents of their parents.
“Paano kung di nakaboto ang magulang –– kasalanan ba ‘yun nung bata?” he asked.
Sotto said he will also remove the patronage culture between scholars and the city government, as well as establish a program to train students for possible service in the bureaucracy.
