Rico Golez accepts boxing award for late dad Roilo
His father continues to bring honor to their family.
Parañaque Vice Mayor Enrico Golez suited up as he was invited to attend the esteemed Elorde Awards for 2019.
The politiko was tasked to accept a posthumous award on behalf of his father, the late Congressman Roilo Golez. Turns out that the family of the late Pinoy boxing champ Gabriel “The Flash” Elorde wanted to honor his legacy for all the help to promote the sport.
The older Golez served as former president of Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines.

Thank you very much to the Elorde family for recognising my late father, Roilo Golez’s contribution to Philippine Boxing, as a former president of Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP). I’m also proud of the fact that In his younger years, my father was a 4-time Brigade Champion of the US Naval Academy (USNA). #vicemayorricogolez #paranaque #paranaquecity
