Sisters in service: Pia, Lani Cayetano stand as ‘ninangs’ to 3 rescued babi
Instead of holding a grandiose celebration, Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano marked her birthday last week by launching the city’s safe haven for young and female victims of violence.
Coinciding with the launch of the Taguig Lingap Center at Mercado Del Lago was a dedication ceremony for three babies who were rescued by the City Social Welfare and Development Office and who are currently housed at the facility.
Pia and her sister-in-law, Mayor Lani Cayetano, stood as godparents for the babies.
Established in July 2016, the Taguig Lingap Center saves children at risk, elderly and women who are victims of violence.
The center becomes the temporary home of the victims before they are either reintegrated to their families or referred to institutions.
