Rex Gatchalian is pro-HIV testing
People need to look after their sexual health, too.
Mayor Rexlon Gatchalian backed a project by one of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairmen in Valenzuela pushing for free HIV testing.
The politiko gave kudos to SK Chair Philip Faustino, who is personally advocating for the use of HIV home kits. These do-it-yourself test strips work like pregnancy tests to check for any trace of the virus in one’s body.
Faustino even took the test himself to help promote the cause, which earned the respect of Gatchalian.
“Our SKCs should proactively push for projects like this Philip. This is a crucial and critical issue that the youth must deal with. Testing and getting informed,” the mayor said.
