Hinay-hinay sa vaping: QC regulates e-cigarettes use in public
The Quezon City Council has passed an ordinance regulating the use of e-cigarettes in public places.
City Ordinance 2737-2018 prohibits the use of e-cigarettes inside places of worship, hospitals and other healthcare centers, government offices, educational or recreational facilities, as well as in public transport vehicles.
Vaping, or the use of e-cigarettes, will only be allowed in private and public enclosed establishments that have signages for the purpose.
Workplaces should also have a vaping area that is separate from the smoking area.
The city ordinance likewise prohibits minors from selling and purchasing e-cigarettes.
Those who violate the ordinance could be fined by as much as P5,000 while the business permits of offenders may also be cancelled or revoked.
