Malacanang believes there might be a conspiracy among international organizations to weaken the government of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said this after International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda announced that he office will still examine the alleged crimes against humanity in Duterte’s war on drugs amid the withdrawal of the Philippines from ICC.
The country’s departure from the international tribunal took effect last March 17. We are the second nation to leave ICC after Burundi withdrew in 2017.
“What I know is that international organizations appeared to have conspired against this President. They opt to believe what they have been receiving from the source, the Philippines, false stories about the situation in this country,” added Panelo.
When asked about his basis for saying so, the official explained: “Eh kasi halos lahat sila pare pareho and siansabi.and they are also citing the same figures.”
“They appear to be in the conspiracy because they say the same things,” he added.
