Vico Sotto turns to science to explain why he’s anti-death penalty
It’s not the magic solution to end all crimes.
Pasig City Councilor Vico Sotto shared an article from a scientific journal to reason why he’s heavily against bringing back death penalty in the Philippines.
The aspiring mayor shared a report quoting scientific studies that compare crime rates in the United States, which showed that states without death penalty actually have lower crime incidence versus those that impose capital punishment.
"Scientists agree, by an overwhelming majority, that the death penalty has no deterrent effect."https://t.co/6DAgoxq3bZ
