He doesn’t want other families to go through their hardships.
Actor turned Quezon City Congressman Alfred Vargas is in seventh heaven after finding out the news that President Rodrigo Duterte has signed his pet bill, the National Integrated Cancer Control Act, into law.
The politiko has been vocal about his support for this proposal, as he was drawing insights from his beloved mother’s own battle with the disease.
“Finally! This is for you, Mom, and all the cancer victims, survivors, and every Filipino family who fought endlessly against the big C,” Vargas said.
He also went to recognize the hard work put in by the Cancer Coalition Philippines to lobby for its passage.
