Naki-piyesta na rin! Bistek cancels classes in QC on January 9 due to ‘Traslacion’ 2019
Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has ordered the suspension of classes in all levels on Wednesday due to the Traslacion or the procession of the image of the Black Nazarene in Manila.
“In view of the reported threats to the security and orderliness of the conduct of the activity, including its implications to vehicular and pedestrian traffic, Mayor Herbert Bautista issued instructions declaring a suspension of classes in Quezon City at all levels,” the memorandum read.
The document was signed by City Administrator Aldrin Cuna on Bautista’s authority.
Millions of devotees are expected to join the Traslacion.
Manila mayor Joseph Estrada has suspended classes in both private and public schools, as well as work in government offices, due to the event.
