The Jesuit school is still in the best position to discipline the child.

Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon said the Ateneo de Manila University should not dismiss the young boy who was caught beating up a fellow student inside the one of the school bathrooms.

The school administration announced on Sunday, Dec. 23 that the boy has been dismissed from the Ateneo, never to return again, as the top school took a stance against bullying and violence.

But Biazon had other ideas.

“I don’t think the bully should be kicked out. That would only harden him & still be a bully in his new school. Let him stay under a closely supervised rehab program. Ban him from competing TKD for the school. Let him face daily those he tormented,” the politiko said, adding that this may be the most effective way by which the young taekwondo player can learn and be better.

“Yes, the first instinct is for us to say expel the bully. But as for me, it’s just sweeping the problem under the rug, and allows the bully to simply reign in another campus,” he added.
