Sakto sa Pasko! Makati to donate P22M to ‘Ompong’-hit areas
The city council of Makati has passed an ordinance for the donation of P22.75 million to the areas hit by Typhoon Ompong last September.
Under City Ordinance 2018-102, the 18 provinces affected by Ompong in Regions 1, 2, 3 and Cordillera Administrative Region will receive P8.2 million from the local government of Makati.
Meanwhile, the 34 municipalities and cities where a state of calamity was declared after the typhoon will receive P14.5 million.
Makati City Mayor Abby Binay said the recipients of the local government’s financial assistance can use the money for the rehabilitation of their localities.
Binay said it is Makati’s aim to help provinces and municipalities affected by Typhoon Ompong to ease the burden of residents still recovering from it.
