Commuting levels up in Valenzuela: Rex Gatchalian launches e-jeep fleet
Commuters in Valenzuela are in for a new experience with the roll out of e-jeepneys in the city.
Valenzuela City mayor Rex Gatchalian graced the recent launch of the COMET 3, the country’s first all-electric public transport fleet.
He and other city officials inspected the vehicles and even rode an e-jeep to experience the difference from ordinary jeepneys.
The e-jeeps are air conditioned, can accommodate up to 30 passengers and accessible to persons with disabilities.
Each vehicle can be fully charged within 30 minutes and features lithium-ion batteries.
The launch of the e-jeepneys on November 15 was among the activities lined up for the celebration of Valenzuela City’s 395th Foundation Day.
