WATCH: Sandy Ocampo explains why she’s not running in 2019

This seven-minute video says it all.

Manila Congresswoman Sandy Ocampo has finally broken her silence as to why she did not push through with her plan to run as vice mayor during the 2019 elections.

With a heavy heart, the politiko published a video explaining why she did not file her candidacy last October, saying that she owed it to the people to provide a reason.

“Alam niyo naman po siguro na for the past five months, naging masigasig ako sa pag-iikot sa Manila para ipakilala ang aking sarili, para makilala ko yung mga tao, at para mapakinggan at makita kung ano yung mga problema at kung ano yung mga magagawa ko bilang matagal nang halal ng aming distrito at maglingkod para maging Vice-Mayor ng Manila,” Ocampo said in the video published on Nov. 4.

She said that she took time off to think as she visited Canada and New York last September, where she also got sick in the process which gave her more time to weigh her decision.

“Nung ako ang nagkasakit, yun ang nakita ko — kailangan ko rin pala ng timeout mula sa pamumulitika,” Ocampo said, adding that she realized that she needed to spend more quality time with her loved ones.
