Preventing Binay vs Binay: Binays to sit down to quell family feud
By Xave Gregorio
The Binays would be sitting down to quell a family feud and keep it from spilling over to Makati, where incumbent Mayor Abigail Binay may go head to head against former Mayor Junjun Binay.
Their eldest sister, Senator Nancy Binay, said they would talk about the feuding for the top post in their bailiwick of Makati with their father, former Vice President Jejomar Binay.
“Hinihintay pa namin ang pagdating ng aming father this weekend,” Nancy said Thursday (October 11) in a chance interview after accompanying United Nationalist Alliance senatorial bet Dan Roleda.
“Paguusapan at susubukan naming ayusin para hindi umabot sa ganung scenario,” Nancy added.
Abby said in a statement Wednesday (October 10) that some Makati councilors are egging on Junjun to run again for mayor against her to get away with their “nefarious activities” she discovered.
But Nancy brushed this off as “normal.”
“Parang normal naman sa isang pamilya ‘yung may nga ganung pinagdadaanan. So kumbaga, isa lang ito, like a normal family ‘yung mga ganitong sitwasyon,” she said.
Whether the family meeting would lead to the Binay siblings reconciliation or they would face off in the mayoralty race in Makati would have to be seen next week.
