Green galore! Rex Gatchalian announces more parks to rise in Valenzuela
Will Valenzuela be known soon as the greenest place in Metro Manila? That may soon be the case after Mayor Rex Gatchalian announced that five new parks will rise in the city.
By December 2018 or January next year, the Valenzuela Family Park in Karuhatan will be opening its doors to the public, Gatchalian said in a Facebook post.
Other parks that are either under construction or in the planning stage are: the Polo Park, a Skateboard and BMX Street Park, the Tagalag Fishing Town Board Walk, and riverside parks along areas stretching Tullahan River that have been cleared of informal settlers.
Gatchalian earlier showed his Facebook followers snapshots of the Valenzuela Family Park, which features trees over 100 years old.
He said the 1.2-hectare park will be the perfect place for Valenzuela residents to hang out in because it is “cool” and “shady.”
