Oca Malapitan rushes to protect Caloocan from communists

The supposed recruitment in the local university got him on his feet.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan swiftly called for a meeting with officials of the University of Caloocan City after a military official said rebels were recruiting from the Caloocan City College, the school’s old name.

The politiko was alarmed about the unverified report that the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) is recruiting students to join a brewing revolution to oust President Rodrigo Duterte. Malapitan told school executives to prevent such thing from happening.

“Bilang isang institusyon ng edukasyon, ang University of Caloocan City ay nagpupursige para mahubog ang mga mag-aaral nito bilang isang aktibong miyembro ng lipunan at makatulong sa ikabubuti ng Caloocan at ng bansa,” the politiko said.
