Provincial buses back on EDSA as Valenzuela terminal’s construction continues
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has lifted its ban on provincial buses plying along EDSA since the Valenzuela interim terminal is still not operational.
MMDA supervising operations officer Bong Nebrija told the Philippine Star that the provincial bus ban was lifted on September 26.
Under the ban, which was implemented starting August 15, north-bound and south-bound provincial buses are banned from passing through EDSA from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The affected buses were exemptes from the number coding scheme from Monday to Friday.
Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian said the transport terminal is still not operational as some concerns raised by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board need to be addressed.
