Parañaque’s pride: Edwin Olivarez fetes CJ De Castro
The city government of Parañaque on Thursday celebrated the appointment of Teresita Leonardo De Castro as Chief Justice, even though she is set to retire soon.
The local government, led by Mayor Edwin Olivarez, held a celebration in De Castro’s honor at the Parañaque Social Hall in Barangay San Antonio.
In a Facebook post, Olivarez said the event was a tribute to De Castro’s “more than four decades of service and integrity.”
De Castro is also the first resident of Parañaque City to be appointed Chief Justice, he added.
During the celebration, the Chief Justice was presented with dolls enclosed in a glass case honoring her achievements.
De Castro was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte on August 25. She will retire on October 8.
