Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro immediately went back to work as soon as the downpour caused by Typhoon Ompong slowed down on Sunday.

Teodoro went around the city to check the structures damaged by Typhoon Ompong and help out in the clearing operations.

“Kaya ako naglakad sa paligid kasi gusto kong personal na makita kung maayos ang lahat matapos ang bagyo,” he said.

During his inspection, Teodoro noticed potholes on the streets, raised on-road drainages and gravel scattered through the sidewalk. He immediately ordered concerned government offices to fix them.

At the height of Typhoon Ompong’s onslaught on Saturday, Teodoro was busy coordinating with authorities to ensure calls for help are swiftly attended to. He also joined the police in checking the damage caused by a tornado at Barangay San Roque.
