It’s time to build something new.

Marikina Congressman Romero “Miro” Quimbo said the latest fiasco at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the most obvious indication that the country needs a new international airports as soon as possible.

The NAIA Terminal 1 has been paralyzed for 36 hours from Aug. 17 after a Xiamen Airlines flight veered off the runway and left thousand of passengers stranded.

For Quimbo, there is only one permanent solution.

“Its time to build a new airport. NAIA is simply No longer acceptable as our international gateway. There’s No more room for expansion there. Cosmetic renovation of the toilets is the most that can be done,” Quimbo said.

“Whatever happened to the new terminal in Bulacan?”

Will the Transportation department listen?
