Miro on Bebot’s zero budget for congressmen: Unforgivable
Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo revealed that some congressmen did not take much to convince them to oust former Speaker Bebot Alvarez because of his bullying ways and “unforgivable” move to reduce to zero their budget allocations for this year.
“Speaker Bebot is an absolutely nice person he’s a nice guy very approachable he listens too many of our problem. But it was really unforgivable for us that seven of our colleagues got zero budget for this year. Simply because they voted on the number of things that we are not aligned with his opinion,” said Quimbo in an interview with Mareng Winnie on GMA.
“Not only that we lost five chairmanships of different committees because our members voted against the death penalty bill,” said Quimbo.
At least 24 politikos critical of the administration got zero budget for their districts’ infrastructure in the 2018 budget.
Alvarez was ousted last July 23 by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo with 184 votes out of the 292-strong House.
