Laban-bawi? PNP to reconsider decision to recall Trillanes’ security

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV could possibly get his security detail back.

This after Philippine National Police-Police Security and Protection Group Director Senior Superintendent Filmore Escobal said Saturday that they will “re-evaluate” the decision to recall the politiko’s security aides.

“We will re-evaluate and coord with the AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines] to confirm his claim,” Escobal said.

Trillanes revealed Friday that the AFP and the PNP recalled his military and police security detail without any explanation effective end of June.

Escobal explained that the PNP did not renew the police escorts to the senator since he supposedly had six security aides already – two from AFP, two from the Philippine Navy, and two from the Senate.

Trillanes, however, denied this saying that he has no security detail from Senate while the AFP had also recalled his aides.

He said he is currently being secured by former soldiers from his political party Magdalo.

Despite being stripped of his security details, Trillanes said he could take care of himself and he was not afraid of his political enemy, President Duterte.

“Huwag silang mag-alala dahil siguro by this time I know how to take care of myself pero hindi rin naman ako paranoid. I’m a fatalist. I know God has a plan. Kung oras mo, oras mo,” the senator said.

“Pero sa akin ganito lang— subukan lang nila. Kilala ko ‘yang si Duterte by now. Duwag ‘yan,” he added.
