Here’s what Ruffy Biazon thinks of the ‘province of China’ banners
He’s giving the benefit of the doubt.
Netizens were enraged on Thursday, July 12 after streamers posted near the Manila airport seemed to dub the Philippines as a “province of China.” The banners are particularly timely, as the country celebrates two years of winning the arbitration case against China on the disputed territory on South China Sea.
However, Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon tried to keep a cool head and tried to see the sign from a different perspective.
“It may also be read as a welcome sign to a delegation from the Province of China, welcoming them to the Philippines,” Biazon tweeted.

It was eventually the same reasoning given by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. Are you buying it?
