Demoted? Heads of two metro police districts replaced
The heads of two police districts in Metro Manila have been replaced by two senior police officials.
Chief Superintendents Alfred Corpus and Gregorio Lim assumed their new posts as directors of Eastern Police District (EPD) and Northern Police District (NPD), respectively, on Friday.
Corpus, who is the deputy chief of Directorate for Intelligence, switched post with EPD director Chief Superintendent Reynaldo Biay.
While Lim, deputy director for operations of the National Capital Region Police Office, swapped post with NPD director Chief Superintendent Clifton Empiso.
Corpus and Lim belong to the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1987 and were classmates of newly installed NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar.
Eleazar explained that the reshuffle is not a demotion for Biay and Empiso noting that it was a decision of Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde to assign senior police officers “to posts where they could be effective.”
“This is a routine movement of police officers to improve their performance against crime, especially illegal drugs,” Eleazar said.
