Para ligtas lahat: 5,000 cops to be deployed for Monday’s opening of classes
Around 5,000 policemen will be deployed on Monday for the opening of school year 2018-2019.
Newly installed National Capital Region Police Office head Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said the cops will be augmented by more than 4,000 force multipliers such as barangay tanods and private security guards to safeguard students from any harm or danger.
“We will lessen the window of opportunity for them to do their thing,” he said referring to criminals who might take advantage of the resumption of classes.
Eleazar warned students against bringing expensive gadgets such as cellphones and laptops to school that might attract thieves.
He meanwhile noted that the new 911 emergency hotline installed by President Duterte will be of great help to deter crimes and ensure public safety.
“Napakaganda ng ganyan… Gustong-gusto po natin ‘yan bilang regional director. Natutuwa po tayo at ang ating tututukan ay ang implementasyon and how we can deliver the expected services sa mga nagrereklamo,” he said.
