Belmonte lauds Eleazar’s appointment to NCRPO: He deserves it!
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte is happy with the appointment of Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar as the new head of National Capital Region Police Office.
“We are happy. We are ecstatic that he was named NCRPO chief. He deserves it,” Belmonte said.
“Things are bright under his leadership,” she added.
Belmonte worked with Eleazar when the latter headed the Quezon City Police District for almost two years.
The lady politiko stressed that Eleazar’s support in the city government’s campaign against illegal drugs “has been invaluable”.
Belmonte, who heads the Quezon City anti-drug abuse advisory council, said around 16,000 drug suspects voluntarily surrendered to authorities during Eleazar’s term.
“He set the standard for what a district director should be or should be doing, especially in terms of community relations,” she said.
“I think everything starts with trust and confidence built between the police and the community. He was able to establish that here in Quezon City and that’s why we are successful because we rallied behind him and he rallied behind us. We have genuine cooperation and a very good working relationship,” she added.
