Muntinlupa court denies de Lima’s appeal to attend son’s graduation
Detained Senator Leila de Lima is about to miss one of the milestones in her son’s life.
This after the Muntinlupa regional trial court denied her request for a furlough to allow her to attend her son’s graduation on June 3 at San Beda College in Alabang.
In a May 25 order, Judge Amelia Fabros-Corpuz of RTC Branch 205 said De Lima’s presence will “disrupt the solemnity” of the graduation rites.
Fabros-Corpuz added that the “school and nearby villages will be put at risk by De Lima’s presence.”
She pointed out that the senator could still celebrate the event by holding a celebration at Camp Crame, where she is currently detained.
She added that the senator could ask her relatives to record the graduation so she would not miss it.
The lady politiko’s son is set to graduate with a degree in law.
