Joy Belmonte gets tourism tips from Imee Marcos

The governor said Quezon City could be the “Hollywood of the Philippines.”

Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte had a meeting arranged with Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos to get some pointers in developing cultural tourism.

Belmonte wanted some tips following the success of the province in developing local talent and attracting visitors to come see the art themselves.

“I was particularly interested in their cultural tourism policy where they provide incentives to their local artists, and assistance packages to local and international movie producers who choose to shoot films in Ilocos Norte,” Belmonte said.

In fact, Marcos flattered Belmonte by telling her that branding QC as the local Hollywood will make tourists sure to flock the city.
