Stop ENDO daw? Duterte’s Davao big on contractuals, Tom Villarin says
His hometown is actually a big violator of the President’s newest mantra.
Akbayan Party-list Rep. Tom Villarin called out the hypocrisy that is Davao City. Despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign promise to end endo — referring to contractualization of workers — his bailiwick for decades apparently is a haven for such labor arrangements.
“#StopENDO but Davao wants never-ending hiring of contractuals. It’s patronage politics at its worst,” Villarin said as he shared a report revealing nearly P1 billion spent by the city hall for worker salaries on a per-contract basis.
