Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista has led the inauguration of a six-story building inside the City Hall compound which houses a one-stop shop for processing of building and locational permits.
The Civic Center Building D houses the Department of Building Official, City Planning and Development Office, Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department and the City Architect Department.
“We have to transfer them [to a bigger space] to ease doing business in the Philippines,” Bautista said.
“We received instructions from the Department of Finance and Department of Trade and Industry to speed up the system of applying for a building permit, business permit and locational permit. That was about three years ago,” he added.
He stressed that people no longer need to move from one building to another to apply building permits and clearances as the offices are now brought together under one roof.
He noted that the new building is more spacious, fully air-conditioned and well-lighted.
There are about 75,000 registered business establishments in Quezon City, with registered real property units at about 600,000.
