Isip-isip! Belmonte tells voters to use ballot ‘wisely’
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte reminded voters to elect the right set of people in the coming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Belmonte said voters should use the ballot “wisely to elect well-intentioned leaders and replace the ones they dislike.”
“Use the ballot to choose your leaders. If we feel that they have not served us well, don’t vote for them. We will use the ballot,” she said.
The lady politiko said voters should take advantage of the election to finally replace corrupt and incompetent individuals and elect good leaders who will contribute to further development of the community.
Should their chosen candidates lose, Belmonte said people must still unite as one and support the government.
“In unity, there is strength. In unity, there is power. In unity, our voices can be heard,” she added.
Belmonte, who is the daughter of former House Speaker and Quezon City Rep. Sonny Belmonte, is eyeing a mayoral seat in 2019.
If elected, she vowed to put people’s money to good use by implementing projects and programs that will truly address the needs of the people.
“I will always ask you. I will also consult you. What are your needs? What are the services you want the city to fund? I’m a consultative leader. I really believe in participatory government. That is what I am going to do,” she said.
