Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco is proud to hear good words about the Navotas City Hospital (NCH).
NCH was recently recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) for its outstanding health services and facilities.
“I was impressed with the quality of the hospital. I wish other public hospitals would have the same quality of facilities as the NCH,” said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III during a surprise inspection at the hospital.
Tiangco welcomed Duque’s remarks and vowed to continue improving the services of NCH and other health facilities in the city.
The NCH has been giving medical care to Navoteños since 2015.
It offers services such as internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, ophthalmology/eye clinic, anesthesiology, community and out-patient services, laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound, and dental services.
Last year, five units of hemodialysis machines were installed at the NCH to serve up to 15 patients daily.
The city government plans to build an additional building that will increase the hospital’s total bed capacity from 50 to 100.
Navotas will also soon have a medical hub which will offer drug testing, community-based rehabilitation and physical therapy, animal bite treatment, clinical laboratory, and diagnostic services such as ultrasound, ECG and x-ray exams.
The center will also provide dental services, teen health services, social hygiene services, breast checkup and mammography.
