Wala kasing bakuna: Measles kills 2 in Taguig – Cayetano
Two people have died due to measles in Taguig City.
This was confirmed by Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano Monday amid reports of an outbreak in one of the villages in the city.
According to the lady politiko, both fatalities had no prior immunization against the deadly disease.
“They were among a total of nine patients with measles monitored by the city’s health office,” she said.
The Department of Health and local officials earlier this month announced measles outbreak in a Taguig village, which they refused to identify.
Cayetano stressed that some parents in Taguig have declined to get their children vaccinated against the illness amid a health scare triggered by the controversial dengue immunization program.
Taguig health officers have been conducting door-to-door in the city’s barangays to immunize children and explain that the anti-measles vaccine is safe and necessary to protect their children.
