Wala nang atrasan! Joy Belmonte reaffirms plan to run for QC mayor in 2019
There is no turning back for Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte.
The lady politiko said she is definitely joining the mayoralty race in this coming 2019 elections.
“They say that if you want change to happen, it’s really in the local level. I want to be an effective agent of change,” she said.
Belmonte, daughter of former long time mayor of the city and now District 4 Rep. Feliciano Belmonte, said it is a “natural progression” for her to run for the next higher post being vice mayor of Kyusi since 2010.
“I think in the past seven and a half years, I have gotten a firm grasp of the problems of our city. I think that’s a definite advantage I have over other candidates who are considering running for the mayoralty post,” she said.
“I know and have become well-versed with the problems unique to the city,” she added.
Others who are reportedly vying for the same post are 1st District Rep. Bingbong Crisologo and TV host Willie Revillame.
