Do not attempt to use and sell banned firecrackers in Quezon City this holiday season.

This is the warning of the city’s Public Order and Safety head Elmo San Diego saying that those who will be caught will end up in prison.

“As much as possible, we must avoid the selling of illegal firecrackers. These are prohibited. Don’t attempt to sell or you will end up in jail,” he said.

Some of the firecrackers prohibited under Republic Act 7183 include Judas belt, whistle bomb, bawang, pla-pla and super lolo.

City Ordinance 2618-2017 imposes a total ban on the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in all public places of Quezon City during a festivity or for any occasion.

Mayor Herbert Bautista signed the measure last October 13 but its implementing rules and regulations are still being crafted.
