The United Kingdom advised its nationals in the Philippines to brace for more traffic jams and flight disruptions starting Friday, Nov. 10, due to the upcoming Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Manila and Clark (Pampanga).

In its travel advice updated Nov. 8, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office said the ASEAN summit is scheduled Nov. 10 to 14 in Manila and in Clark, Pampanga.

“There will be some disruption of road traffic and potential disruption to flights, as the majority of delegates will arrive by air; you should check with your travel provider and follow local advice before making a journey,” it said.

Also, it said there will likely be higher security presence on the streets.

Because of this, it said UK nationals “should remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities.”
