‘Girl power’ in Congress got Bautista out of Comelec, Harry Roque says
He’s proud to be one of these powerful ladies.
KABAYAN Party-list Rep. Harry Roque is pleased to hear the resignation of Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Andres Bautista, saying that Congress’ show of force has worked time and again.
Roque joined the hearing of the House Committee on Justice on Tuesday, Oct. 24, where the impeachment complaint lodged against the Comelec chief was set aside following Bautista’s immediate resignation approved by President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Bautista’s impeachment and resignation is a triumph for accountability and girl power,” Roque said as he posed with the congresswomen that filed the charges and made the case before the panel.
