Tom Villarin wants Senate to remove P900M Oplan Tokhang budget after Bato’s ‘ingrato’ comment

The fund should be used to better use other than the police chief’s Senate campaign.

Akbayan Rep. Tom Villarin is asking the Senate to cancel the P900 million budget for the continuation of Oplan Tokhang under the Philippine National Police (PNP). This is after the police chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa called the critics of the drug war as “ingrates” — or ungrateful for the service.

Villarin said the funds will be of better use in other government projects, or else it could be used to make Dela Rosa more popular than ever en route to a Senate seat by 2019.
