PDEA declares two more Valenzuela barangays ‘drug-free’
Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian on Tuesday announced that two more barangays have been declared by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as a drug-cleared community.
Gatchalian said the declaration of Barangays Coloong and Tagalog as the drug free community was based on validation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA).
The mayor lauded the active participation of Coloong Punong Barangay Willy Ramos and Tagalag Punong Barangay Rene Bernardo with the authorities that resulted in PDEA’s certification.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Valenzuela City Director, Mary Jane SE Nacario also announced that Valenzuela City is among the only three cities in Metro Manila which met the deadline for submission of drug programs documentation.
Last June 2, PDEA also declared Barangay Wawang Pulo as the first drug-cleared barangay in Valenzuela City.
