Swerte naman! Bistek says 460 land jobs in QC Labor Day event

Some 460 job-seekers successfully gained employment during the Labor Day mega job fair, Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista said on Wednesday, May 3.

The mega job fair was held at the Quezon City Hall on Elliptical Road and Fisher Mall on Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

Of this number, Bautista said 362 applicants were hired on-the-spot for local employment while 98 applicants were signed up for overseas employment.

More than 7,000 job hunters attended the mega job fair with the theme: “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.”

The job fair was organized by the local Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-NCR, and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

The QC job fair offered more than 29,000 vacant positions locally and overseas.

During the event, a total of 130 companies from different industries, including business process outsourcing (BPO), maintenance and construction, health and wellness, production services, hotel and restaurant services, and merchandising and sales sectors, offered their available positions.

Jobs that are deemed in demand locally are production machine operators, customer service representatives, factory workers, and police force personnel, while in demand jobs abroad are laborers, janitors, service crew, electricians, nurses, welders, waiter, foremen and plumbers.
