Drug dependents wishing to recover from their habit were assured of support from the Archdiocese of Manila, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle said.

Tagle issued the reassurance as he said he continues to pray for those who surrender and seek a new life away from drugs.

He said the Church and government should work together to help the surrendered drug dependents through the “Sanlakbay sa Pagbabago ng Buhay” program.

Also, he said those who surrender deserve support for making the right decision.

Tagle said the Church can help the surrenderees spiritually and support them through livelihood projects.

Some can also undergo “skills formation” programs, he said.
