There’s money in the old things: Councilors’ fund raising for drug users reach a little less than P100k

After a week of lined up events and programs, the Philippine Councilors League Week has reached the finish line.

To leave their legacy and to help in their city’s drug rehabilitation efforts, the councilors have raised over Php. 85,000 just from selling used clothes, bags and shoes. Yes, a little less than 100k from an ukay-ukay!

Councilor Mayen Juico represented their whole league in a ceremonial dropping off of their donations to ‘Tahanan’, QC’s very own drug rehabilitation center. Using their raised amount, they were able to buy many boxes of toiletries.

The Politiko wrote in her Instagram account: ”
Capping off the Philippine Councilors League Week by turning over toiletries (few boxes only for documentation purposes) to Tahanan, our drug rehabilitation center, bought from the proceeds of our Councilors Ukay Ukay for a cause last Sept 6-9. We raised P85,000.00! Thank you to my fellow Quezon City Councilors. Mabuhay kayong lahat!”
