Roilo Golez takes frontline in EDSA Day protest vs China

He is off to lead a new kind of revolt.

Former National Security Adviser and returning politiko Roilo Golez took the frontline as groups drummed up protest actions outside the Chinese embassy in Manila on Feb. 25. The Thursday was declared as a holiday as people remembered the 30th anniversary of the EDSA People Power movement, which ousted dictator Ferdinand Marcos and installed Cory Aquino as president, ending the Martial Law era.

As for Golez, who is running to return as Parañaque congressman, he’s off to lead a movement against China amid the ongoing territorial row over disputed islands in the West Philippine Sea. His allies? The Vietnamese.
