Joy Belmonte asks women to support Leni
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte on Saturday asked her constituents to support her “Women For Leni Movement.”
On his Facebook account, she also encouraged her constituents, particularly women, to show that in Quezon City “there is such thing as a women’s vote.”
“To all of the women in Quezon City who believe in honest and sincere leadership, efficient, transparent, and accountable governance, please support me in my effort to organize a Women For Leni Movement,” said Belmonte.
The vice mayor is eyeing to launch the “Women For Leni Movement” on December 15 at the Araneta Coliseum.
“Cong. Leni Robredo has worked pro bono as a human rights lawyer for the marginalized including women, children, farmers, indigenous people and fisherfolk as a human rights lawyer bago sya naging pulitiko. Bilang isang solo parent na may pagnanais din maglingkod sa bayan, naiintindihan niya ang mga issues na dinaranas ng marami sa ating mga kabaro,” she said.
Robredo will run for vice president under the Liberal Party.
“[Ipakita natin] na kaya nating magluklok sa puwesto ng isang lider na nakakaintindi sa mga hinaing ng kababaihan at magsusulong ng ating mga karapatan, pangarap at adhikain,” added the vice mayor, who is the daughter of Liberal Party vice chairman, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr.
