Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada on Sunday imposed “no epal” policy during the commemorations of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day at the Manila North Cemetery and Manila South Cemetery.
Estrada said that all the tarpaulins and streamers with face as well as names of politicians are prohibited in cemeteries.
He said that thousands of Manila City Hall personnel are strategically deployed to secure Manila cemeteries.
Meanwhile, Estrada appealed to the public to refrain from bringing deadly weapons, alcoholic beverages at the cemetery. He also advised the public to avoid bringing of jewelries and other valuables.
Last Saturday, during his ocular inspection at the Manila North Cemetery, the mayor already visited the tombs of Fernando Poe. Jr, former President Manuel Roxas, former Manila Mayors Aresenio Lacson and Antonio Villegas, and heroes of the World War 2.
