For hands on training: John Rey Tiangco lets senior high students do internship at city hall
Navotas City mayor John Rey Tiangco has signed an agreement with local education officials to allow senior high school students do their internship at the city hall.
The agreement aims to prepare the students for higher education and give them the necessary skills for the future.
Among the schools which will take part in the internship program are Bangkulasi Senior High School, Filemon T. Lizan Senior High School, Gov. Andres Pascual College, Kaunlaran High School, San Roque National High School and Tangos National High School.
Under the deal, 462 senior high school students will work at the city hall until they complete the 80 hours required for their internship.
The students will be divided inyto three batches and will be assigned to different departments of the city government from November 16, 2018 until February 2019.
The Work Immersion Program is a requirement of the Department of Education for senior high school students before graduation.
The MOA for internship at the city hall was signed by Tiangco, Dr. Meliton Zurbano, officer in charge of the Schools Division Superintendent, and principals of the senior high schools involved in the program.
