Erap frees Manila from P200M debt
The city can finally move on from these dues.
Like his action roles, Mayor Joseph Estrada has pulled the love of his life free from the shackles of its captors — only this time, it’s the city of Manila from it’s decade-old debt.
Estrada recently paid off P200 million of the city’s unpaid taxes and personally handed a check to Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Caesar “Billy” Dulay. The amount covers tax liabilities back in 2007 which were left unpaid by two previous mayors.
