Ex-Manila rep Harry Angping seeks court’s nod for Malaysia trip
Former Manila Representative Harry Angping has asked the Sandiganbayan 6th Division to allow him to go to a business meeting in Malaysia this October.
“Accused respectfully manifests that he will abide by all the conditions and requirements that the Honorable Court may impose for the foregoing travel,” read his motion to travel.
Angping explained he needs to be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from Oct. 11 to 14 to hold a business meeting with Low Beng Chiu, president of Malaysia Softball Association and SCA Softball Confederation Asia.
He is facing before the Sandiganbayan a graft case concerning the alleged hiring of 80 personnel at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) from 2009 to 2011 when he was still its chairman.
Under the case, he allegedly gave undue advantage to Philcare when it was selected to provide the personnel without undergoing the required public bidding.
