Not enough evidence? Gerald German released from jail despite facing raps for beating up wife
Pateros Vice Mayor Gerald German has been released from jail after being arrested for allegedly beating up his wife last week, according to a report by the Philippine Star.
German was freed on September 21 on the orders of Senior Deputy Provincial Prosecutor Gloria Marinduque De Guzman, citing the need for further investigation.
The vice mayor is facing charges for violence against women and children based on the complaint of his wife, Mary Antonette.
German’s wife reportedly sought police assistance after their argument turned violent on September 20.
The police said jealousy was the motive behind the couple’s heated arguments, which reportedly resulted in bruises on Mary Antonette’s face and arms.
Prior to filing charges against the vice mayor, his wife entered into the police blotter two incidents in which he supposedly beat her up– on July 8 and August 30.
